Please be aware that just off the Dolphin Hotel beach in the Shanzu beach area, in 2009 a tourist was drowned. She went out in a local fishermans boat she had booked through a local beach boy [man] sailor. All it was, was a nice [so they all thought] sailing trip in the calm waters of the reef just off the beach in front of her hotel with three others she was on holiday with. They went in his boat to just outside of the reef and they were shouting at the fisherman of that sailing boat to return to the calmer waters, he was showing off to the women, then had trouble getting the boat under control in the choppy waters. They all got into difficulties and they were tipped out into the sea, now the teenagers here were in difficulties in the water and out of the boat and no help around them, there was NOT ONE LIFEJACKET BETWEEN THEM. The others got to shore but the girl vanished. There was a big rescue mounted by the fishermen with the decent sea going boats from Mtwapa, hours later the poor girls body was found.

The girl that died because she was NOT WEARING A LIFE JACKET as there was not one supplied, nor was there a life jacket in the boat. BE AWARE it was a calm sea in the waters between the reef and the shoreline but outside the reef it was Choppy. Also be aware these shoreline fishermen are not insured, NOR are they trained in seamanship, NOR do they have life jackets in their boats. DONT RISK YOUR LIFE with them.

Kenya is one of the world's most famous destinations for Deep Sea Fishing. Whether hooked on fishing for Marlin or fly-fishing for Sailfish, Dorado, etc. we have the boats and crew to assist you with your catches.

Our ideally based Fishing Club at the Mtwapa Creek is 1/2 an hour from Mombasa Airport and right in the heart of Kenya's best fishing grounds which range from Malindi, Watamu to Shimoni, Pemba Channel.

Walter and Ingrid Brun have been running the Club since 20 years. All the crew on our boats have been fishing for at least 10 years and are well known and liked for their pleasant and skilful service on board.

15 Minutes after leaving the Jetty and crossing the reef you trawl over 200 metre depth in the Indian Ocean and you can start to bait for Black Marlin, Sailfish, Tuna Dorado, Barracuda, Wahoo, Bonito and others.

Striped Marlin and Blue Marlin are caught while fishing offshore in the deeper water.

This is also the fishing ground for the Broadbill-Swordfish when Nightfishing.

Besides the fly-fishing on the Big Game Boats, we have a 9 metre all-open Cesse Canoe ideal for fly-fishing and spinning for Sailfish, Dorado, Tuna, Bonito, Barracuda, Kingfish ect. in the coastal waters.

We promote Tag and Release for Billfish in good condition.

All catches boated will be eaten or used for bait.

We are member of the "International Game Fishing Association" and fish according to "I.G.F.A." rules.

We use all type of artificial bait Rapala, Conaheads, Ilander, etc. and all systems of baiting with fish. During your fishing trip you often see whales, whale sharks, dolphins and turtles.
